Sign of the Lion

Pierre Wesselrin (Jess Hahn), an American in Paris, gets by on the generosity of his working friends. When word comes that his rich aunt has died, he borrows money against the inheritance, throws a party, and trusts his horoscope to keep the luck coming. Éric Rohmer shot his first feature in Paris in the summer of 1959, and it tells a plain story about how little a man holds onto once his friends stop covering for him.
