“It's not like they didn't warn us.”

One morning on a Pennsylvania farm, Graham Hess (Mel Gibson) finds a huge pattern pressed into his cornfield, with no tracks leading in or out. M. Night Shyamalan keeps the family indoors with Graham, his brother Merrill (Joaquin Phoenix) and his two children while the same marks appear in fields around the world. Graham used to be a priest, and the film is about whether a man who stopped believing can look at what is happening and still see a reason behind it.
