Silence and Cry

István (András Kozák), a former soldier of the Red Army, runs from the Royal Gendarme across the Great Hungarian Plain in 1919. He finds refuge on a farm kept by two women, Teréz (Mari Törőcsik) and Anna (Andrea Drahota), while patrols search the country for men like him. Miklós Jancsó lets István and Teréz share the same small, watched space, each knowing what a single mistake would cost the other.
