Silence of the Sea

Jeanne Larosière (Julie Delarme) gives piano lessons in a small town in western France and lives there with her grandfather André (Michel Galabru). When a Wehrmacht captain, Werner von Ebrennac (Thomas Jouannet), is billeted in their house, the two decide never to speak a word to him. He loves France and its culture, and talks to them anyway, night after night. Pierre Boutron's film follows Jeanne as the silence she chose begins to cost her peace of mind.
