A string of sadistic murders is killing people in Tarker's Mills, and the town can't agree on who is behind them. Some blame a maniac, others talk about a hairy creature seen at night, and the doors get locked early. Marty Coslaw (Corey Haim) keeps going out anyway, with his sister Jane (Megan Follows) and his Uncle Red (Gary Busey) close by, and Dan Attias, working from Stephen King's script, lets the dread build among the quiet houses of a small town.
