Simon, King of the Witches

(1971)Directed by Bruce Kessler99 min · RDrama, Horror, Comedy
“The Black Mass... The Spells... The Incantations... The Curses... The Ceremonial Sex...”

In 1971 Los Angeles, Simon Sinestrari (Andrew Prine) lives in a storm drain and talks to the trees, and he is entirely serious about being a warlock. A night in jail puts him with Turk (George Paulsin), a young hustler, and leads to a job working a party for Hercules Van Zandt (Gerald York), an aging hipster. Bruce Kessler films the whole scene on cheap, grainy stock, and the grit gives the rituals an odd, late-night shabbiness.
