Simon of the Desert

“Sacrifice and Temptation”

In the desert of the fourth century, Simón (Claudio Brook) has spent years standing on a stone column, because he believes the height will bring him closer to God. Luis Buñuel sends the Devil (Silvia Pinal) across the sand to tempt him down, and the visits are patient and persistent. Simón has only his faith and a narrow platform to keep him from the ground.
