Simone: Woman of the Century

(2022)Directed by Olivier Dahan140 minDrama, History
“We are responsible for what will unite us tomorrow”

The film begins in France in 1941, where Simone Veil (Rebecca Marder) is a girl at home with her mother, Yvonne Jacob (Élodie Bouchez), and her sister Milou. Olivier Dahan follows her across the century, from the camps to the political battles of the 1960s and 70s, with Elsa Zylberstein playing her in later life. Everything she fought for, and everyone she lost, stays on the line the whole way through.
