“There is no justice without sin.”

Nobody in Basin City seems able to say why it rots the way it does, only that it takes in the tough, the corrupt and the brokenhearted and keeps them. Rodriguez and Frank Miller bring Miller's comics to the screen through a handful of intertwined stories, with Hartigan (Bruce Willis), Marv (Mickey Rourke) and Dwight (Clive Owen) each chasing revenge or redemption. Every one of them is trying to do right in a city that refuses to care.
