“Personal! Powerful! Human! Heroic!”

Captain Jonathan Shepard (Kenneth More) wants the German battleship Bismarck found before she reaches the Atlantic convoy lanes, where her eight 15-inch guns could wipe out a whole convoy from beyond the range of any British ship. Working with WRNS Second Officer Anne Davis (Dana Wynter), he plots the chase from the Admiralty. Captain Lindemann (Carl Möhner) stands on the Bismarck's bridge, the ship moving forward with Prinz Eugen beside her.
