Sister My Sister

Christine (Joely Richardson), the elder of two sisters, wants only to keep her younger sister close, and she takes a post as a maid in the Danzard household. Soon Lea (Jodhi May) joins her there, and they work side by side under Madame Danzard (Julie Walters), an employer who watches every move. Nancy Meckler, adapting Wendy Kesselman's play, lets the closeness between Christine and Lea harden into a desire that neither of them will name.
