Sisters

In Russia at the start of the new century, Sveta (Oksana Akinshina) is thirteen and left behind by her father, with a plan to join the army and become a sniper. Dina (Ekaterina Gorina) is eight and adored by her gangster father, and the two girls have never had a reason to cross paths. Sergei Bodrov Jr. made this his only film as director, and he gives it the plain, unhurried eye of a first-timer.
