“Family is fun. But there are limits...”

A well-off suburban French household begins to come apart after the father brings home a small white rat. Soon the younger son, Nicolas (Adrien de Van), announces he is gay, the elder daughter, Sophie (Marina de Van), attempts suicide, and the maid and her husband start to behave as if the rules do not apply to them. François Ozon films the family in bright, flat sitcom framing, so the dread lands as dryly as a punchline.
