Skater Girl

“A coming of age story of a rural skater girl.”

A skateboard turns up in a rural Indian village, and nobody there seems to know quite what to do with it. Prerna (Rachel Sanchita Gupta) is a teenager whose days are already spoken for, until Jessica (Amy Maghera) shows her what the board can do. Manjari Makijany's film is plainly about a girl taking up room she was never offered, and what that costs her.
