Skies of Lebanon

Why does a young woman from the Swiss mountains pack up for Beirut in the fifties, and what keeps her there? Alice (Alba Rohrwacher) falls for Joseph (Wajdi Mouawad), an astrophysicist set on putting the first Lebanese into space, and settles into the warmth of his family. Chloé Mazlo builds the Kamar household in handmade, storybook textures, so the arrival of the civil war lands on a home that looks easy to break.
