“Who will save us?”

Giant robots come down on New York, and Sky Captain (Jude Law) takes his private air force up to meet them. His ex-girlfriend Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow), a reporter, has been tracing the disappearance of prominent scientists and suspects the two stories are one. Kerry Conran, in his first feature, shot the actors against blank screens and built the whole world around them.
