Slap the Monster on Page One

In the last days before an Italian general election, a girl from a rich family is murdered in an attempted rape. Bizanti (Gian Maria Volonté), editor-in-chief of a conservative tabloid, sets out to steer the police investigation so it helps the right-wing candidates his bosses back. Marco Bellocchio puts him at the center of a newsroom and an office, where the young reporter Roveda (Fabio Garriba) has to decide how much of the story his editor can make him write.
