Dr. Francis Clay (Klaus Kinski) runs a sanitorium for wealthy, mentally disturbed women, and he wants the place kept quiet and orderly. Fernando Di Leo sets his giallo inside that institution, where a masked killer begins murdering the inmates. Cheryl Hume (Margaret Lee) and Anne Palmieri (Rosalba Neri) move through the corridors, and Kinski stands among them in his doctor's coat, the mask somewhere in the building.
