Billy Pilgrim (Michael Sacks) just wants to live one ordinary life in order, but his mind keeps dropping him somewhere else. One moment he is a boy, the next a veteran of the Second World War, then a prisoner in Dresden, then a captive on a distant planet called Tralfamadore. George Roy Hill follows him through all of it, and every jump brings Billy closer to the shadow hanging over Dresden.
