“Obey the rules.”

Milo Tindle (Jude Law) drives out to a high-tech manor in the English countryside to talk with Andrew Wyke (Michael Caine), the older man whose wife he is sleeping with. Kenneth Branagh keeps the two of them shut inside the house, working from a Harold Pinter screenplay adapted from Anthony Shaffer's play. Underneath the manners is a plain question of who gets to keep the woman, and how far each man will go to win.
