Slow West

“Wanted Dead or Dead”

Jay Cavendish (Kodi Smit-McPhee), a 17-year-old from Scotland, crosses the American West on foot and horseback to find Rose Ross (Caren Pistorius), the woman he loves. The gunman Silas (Michael Fassbender) offers to guide him, and the boy takes the help without asking what it costs. John Maclean, in his first feature, keeps the two of them riding side by side, the older man watching and the younger one still talking about her.
