Small Change

A motherless boy who has just started noticing girls and his friend, a boy beaten at home and short of everything, move through a school year with the same classroom jokes and dares as the rest of their age. François Truffaut follows the children and their teachers, including Jean-François Richet (Jean-François Stévenin). Most of the film belongs to the kids, in the short stretches of the day they have to themselves.
