Small Town Murder Songs

Walter (Peter Stormare) is an aging police officer in a small Ontario Mennonite town, trying to keep a violent past buried beneath his newly reformed life. A murder in the community disturbs the calm he has worked to build, and his girlfriend Rita (Jill Hennessy) and ex-wife Sam (Martha Plimpton) both stay close at hand. Ed Gass-Donnelly, who also wrote the film, tells it in a quiet, gothic register.
