Jeremiah "Jerry" Kincaid (Bobby Driscoll) is a boy with a lamb named Danny and one stubborn dream, to show him at the Pike County Fair. His strict, loving grandmother (Beulah Bondi) wants nothing of it, while Uncle Hiram Douglas (Burl Ives) quietly takes the boy's side. Hamilton Luske and Harold D. Schuster mix live action with animation to tell a story about patience, and about a child's faith in his lamb.
