Socrates
Athens, in the fourth century BC, is a city of talk, and Socrates (Jean Sylvère) spends his days walking through it, questioning anyone who will stand still. Roberto Rossellini made this for television, adapting Plato's dialogues, as Socrates is accused and brought to trial. The film argues, plainly, that a person should answer for how they have reasoned, whatever the city decides.
