Soldier's Girl

“She was the only man he ever loved.”

Private Barry Winchell (Troy Garity) is stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, when a fellow soldier takes him to a nightclub and he meets Calpernia Addams (Lee Pace), a transgender performer. They fall in love, and Barry keeps it from the men in his unit, who have already started to talk. Frank Pierson, working from Ron Nyswaner's script, tells it as the true story it is and keeps the camera on the two of them.
