(1980)Directed by Konrad Wolf, Wolfgang Kohlhaase105 minDrama, Music

Why does Ingrid "Sunny" Sommer (Renate Krößner), who sings with a band that plays small-town halls around East Berlin, feel so far from the audience and from her own life? She takes up with Ralph, a saxophonist and philosophy student who writes her a song, though his talk of death does not suit her. Konrad Wolf shoots her in the same flat, grainy light as everyone around her.
