Some Freaks

“It's weird not to be weird.”

Matt (Thomas Mann) has one eye and spends high school mostly keeping to himself, until he starts falling for his classmate Jill (Lily Mae Harrington), who is overweight and has her own way of getting through the hallways. Ian McDonald lets the romance grow in small, awkward scenes between two teenagers who finally have someone who sees them. Then Jill leaves for college and loses weight, and the thing they built has to hold up against it.
