Over dinner in Rome, Piero (Edoardo Leo) and Lara (Pilar Fogliati) are making polite conversation, but the voices in their heads keep talking out loud. Piero has just separated, and Lara restores furniture for a living. Paolo Genovese stays close on the table between them, letting their small talk and their private panic run side by side.
