“Something Different. Something Daring. Something Dangerous.”

Charles Driggs (Jeff Daniels), a buttoned-up investment banker, skips out on a lunch bill, and a stranger named Audrey (Melanie Griffith) picks him up and drives him off on a weekend he never planned. Jonathan Demme sends the pair down the highway as the mood tips from playful to dangerous when her ex-con husband Ray (Ray Liotta) turns up. Griffith's black bob stays fixed behind the wheel, and Daniels sits beside her in his suit.
