(1971)Directed by Paul Newman114 min · PGAction, Adventure, Drama
“"Never give a inch" was the motto of the Stampers of Oregon. And live it they did!”

Why do the Stampers keep cutting timber in Oregon while every other logger in town has walked off the job? Hank Stamper (Paul Newman) and his father, Henry (Henry Fonda), run the family business, and Hank pushes the crew harder as the town grows angrier and his wife, Viv (Lee Remick), asks him to stop. Newman directs, and when Hank's half brother Leland (Michael Sarrazin) arrives to work for them, Hank's face is set against the town.
