Somewhere Beyond Love

Nullo Branzi (Giuliano Gemma) works a factory job in Northern Italy and wants someone to share his life with. He finds Carmela Santoro (Stefania Sandrelli), a fellow worker who has left Sicily behind but not the strict values she was raised on. Luigi Comencini follows the two as she allows herself to love him, while the freedoms of the North and the habits of home pull her in opposite directions.
