Son of the White Mare

A horse goddess gives birth to three brothers, among them Fanyüvö (György Cserhalmi), a boy of superhuman strength. The brothers go down into the Underworld to free three princesses from three dragons and win back the kingdom their ancestors lost. Marcell Jankovics draws it from Hungarian and steppe legend as a tribute to those peoples, and Fanyüvö goes on into the dark, still strong, still the white mare's son.
