“A ferocious man sleeps here.”

Aniki Murakawa (Takeshi Kitano) is an aging Tokyo yakuza who has grown tired of the life, and his boss sends him to Okinawa with a few of his men to mediate a gang war. The dispute turns out to be trivial, then an ambush kills some of his crew, and the survivors lie low at the beach. Takeshi Kitano directs, and Murakawa's friendship with Miyuki (Aya Kokumai) is the one thing that pulls him out of his stillness.
