Song for a Raggy Boy

“Four walls. One faith. No identity.”

In 1939, William Franklin (Aidan Quinn) comes home to Ireland from America, where his leftist politics have cost him his teaching job. He takes a post at St. Jude's, a school for wayward boys run by Brother John (Iain Glen), who believes in strict discipline, and he is the first lay teacher the place has had. Aisling Walsh sets Franklin among the Brothers in their black habits, and he stands out against them.
