Sonny Boy

“United by love, torn by fate”

Waldemar Nods (Sergio Hasselbaink), a young man from Suriname, meets Rika van der Lans (Ricky Koole) in the Netherlands before the Second World War, and the two fall in love. She is white, seventeen years older, and already has four children with another man. Maria Peters adapts the true story of Waldy Nods's parents, and Rika, in her own front room, holds the child she is carrying against everything the street outside would say.
