In Hamburg, Zinos Kazantsakis (Adam Bousdoukos) runs a cheap restaurant where the same regulars come in for the same fried plates every night. He hires a gifted chef, and the locals who liked things plain start to bristle. Fatih Akin built the story from Bousdoukos's own years owning a Greek tavern, and Zinos's brother Ilias (Moritz Bleibtreu) keeps turning up with his own plans for the place.
