Sound of Metal

“Music was his world. Then silence revealed a new one.”

Ruben Stone (Riz Ahmed) plays drums in a two-piece metal band with his girlfriend Lou (Olivia Cooke), touring the country in an Airstream trailer. When his hearing starts to go, a doctor tells him it will only get worse, and Lou checks the recovering addict into a rehab community for the deaf, where Joe (Paul Raci) runs the house. Darius Marder keeps the camera close on the two of them as the life they built together starts to pull apart.
