“A child's chance to escape anger and injustice begins with one man... His father.”

Bobby (Glenn Plummer) spent ten years in prison for killing a rival gang leader in South Central Los Angeles, and he comes out steadied by faith and by a fellow inmate named Ali. At home he finds his young son Jimmie has joined the Deuces, the crew Bobby once ran with, because the gang was the only family he had while his father was gone. Stephen Milburn Anderson keeps the camera on the father and son and the distance between them.
