Space Battleship Yamato

“The legendary sci-fi animation, a live-action film at last.”

In 2199, five years into the Gamilon invasion, former pilot Susumu Kodai (Takuya Kimura) finds a capsule from the planet Iscandar. It carries word of a device that could strip the radiation from Earth's ruined surface, and the Earth Defense Force rebuilds the battleship Yamato to carry it home. Takashi Yamazaki sets the voyage against a deadline of one year, and the crew's sacrifice is measured against people living underground.
