Space Is the Place

Sun Ra (Sun Ra) wants to move Black people off Earth to a new planet he has found, and he has come back from years in space to make the offer in person. He brings his Solar Myth Arkestra to talk with inner-city youths, while a devil of his own and a pair of government agents work to keep him here. John Coney films it in loose, bright, homemade scenes, with the Arkestra's music running underneath.
