“Every family has a hero.”

Flor Moreno (Paz Vega), a Mexican immigrant and single mother, takes a housekeeping job with a well-off couple so she can give her daughter, Cristina, a steadier life. Then the schedule proves impossible, and Deborah Clasky (Téa Leoni) decides the whole family should move into the Clasky house. James L. Brooks puts them under one roof with John (Adam Sandler) and the two Clasky children, a long way from where either household began.
