Sparkle

“Celebrate the legend”

Sparkle (Jordin Sparks) writes songs in a notebook in Detroit in 1968, and what she wants most is to sing them for a crowd, though her mother Emma (Whitney Houston) has seen enough of the music business to forbid it. Salim Akil follows her and her two sisters as they form a singing group, with Stix (Derek Luke) signing on as manager. The sisters stand close together in the stage lights, matching in their dresses, the Motown sound rising around them.
