Spartacus
“They trained him to kill for their pleasure ... but they trained him a little too well”
Spartacus (Kirk Douglas) was born a slave in Thrace and is sold to Batiatus (Peter Ustinov), who trains him to kill in a gladiator school. Stanley Kubrick follows him as he turns on his owners and leads the other slaves south across Italy, picking up more escaped slaves in every town. Rome sends Crassus (Laurence Olivier) after them, and the rebels' only hope is to reach the sea and sail home.
