“This is love! Complete...reckless...violent!”

Dr. Constance Petersen (Ingrid Bergman) is a psychoanalyst at a Vermont mental hospital, known among her colleagues for being cool and exact. Then the new director arrives, and she sees right away that the man calling himself Dr. Edwardes (Gregory Peck) is an impostor who cannot remember who he is. Alfred Hitchcock sets her against the police and her own colleagues, and she risks her career because she believes in him and has fallen in love.
