Spies Like Us

“With spies like these, who needs enemies?”

Emmett Fitz-Hume (Chevy Chase) and Austin Millbarge (Dan Aykroyd) are two bumbling government employees who think a spy agency has finally picked them for fieldwork. Director John Landis sends the pair to the Soviet Union, where they keep running into each other, their orders, and a nuclear standoff they barely follow. Under the slapstick, it is a story about two ordinary guys who badly want to be somebody and are being used.
