“What you believe, what you know, is all how you spin it.”

Evan Birch (Guy Pearce) is a respected university professor with a family he loves and a standing he wants to keep. When a female student goes missing, Detective Malloy (Pierce Brosnan) finds evidence that points straight at him, and Evan's wife, Ellen (Minnie Driver), is pulled in beside him. Simon Kaijser keeps the camera close on Evan's face as the questions pile up, so the dread comes from watching him.
