Splendor

Jordan (Marcello Mastroianni) wants to keep the Splendor open, the movie theater his father left him, though it brings in nothing but debts and trouble. His projectionist Luigi (Massimo Troisi) and the usherette Chantal (Marina Vlady) stay on and help him hold out, in what Ettore Scola plays as a stubborn, almost Quixotic campaign. The old house still has its projector, its seats, and its name above the door.
