Splendor in the Grass

Wilma "Deanie" Loomis (Natalie Wood) is a shy Kansas high school girl in love with Bud Stamper (Warren Beatty), the handsome son of the richest family in town. Elia Kazan places the two of them in a small-town world where their parents, including Bud's father Ace (Pat Hingle), and the pressure to hold back shape every date. Deanie wants Bud completely, and the film follows what that wanting does to her.
