A winning lottery ticket sets off a scramble across the Soviet Union, with a whole cast of ordinary people racing to get their hands on it. Konstantin Lukov (Algis Arlauskas) and Tatiana Pegova (Svetlana Amanova) are among them, running into schemers like San Sanych (Mikhail Pugovkin) along the way. Leonid Gaidai keeps everyone moving at full speed, because whoever reaches the ticket first walks away with the prize.
